FACIAL SAFETY DEVICES (C-FLAPS): Facial safety devices are becoming increasingly popular at all levels of baseball. Effective June 1, 2018, these devices, commonly referred to as C-Flaps, are permissible within all Game Day USA events. Ensuring that these devices are affixed to batting helmets properly and are compliant with manufacturer installation standards shall be the sole responsibility of team parents and coaches. Under no circumstances shall the Tournament Director, Umpire in Charge (UIC), and/or game officials have any responsibility for inspecting facial safety devices. Parents and/or coaches can refer their compliance and installation questions to the manufacturer of the batting helmet and/or manufacturer of the facial safety device.

Athletx Sports Group, a leading youth baseball media and events company, which include Baseball Youth, Game Day USA and the Youth Baseball Nationals, announces it will allow the previously approved 2018 DeMarini CF Zen CBZ 2 3/4" (-10), which was recently provisionally suspended by USSSA, within upcoming events and competition. Athletx released a statement along with the decision, "After extensive internal and industry-wide discussions and careful consideration, we do not believe there is enough transparent evidence to justify a suspension of the bat from play. If additional data or information becomes available, we will once again thoroughly review the situation to determine if any changes should be made to our current course of action."
